To My Fellow CWDCA Members,
After several weeks of serious discussion and planning between our Executive Director, Al Eisenberg, Olin Shotwell, our new assistant website manager and chairman of our Ethics committee, Carson Jenkins, our web host and server, and myself we are undergoing an organizational "face-lift" for CWDCA. After considerable growing pains we wish to thank each of you for your support and patience while we have undergone this incubation period.
Starting in January of 2007, we will be offering updates from headquarters informing you of events, plans, procedures, and overall progress of CWDCA. These updates will be available in the NEWS section of our website.
Since monetary considerations, bandwidth expenses, etc. prevent our website from offering chat rooms for online committee meetings we suggest that the chairs organize their committees for information exchange via emails among one another, or even conference calls if that is deemed preferable by the individual committees.
We have determined to make 2007 the breakout year for CWDCA. With increasing need for the success of CWDCA to protect our interests in this great hobby we can do no other. We know you agree, or you wouldn’t have enlisted in the first place. We hope your patience and faith in us is justified by the efforts we are about to expend. With your help we can make this happen. We are designing membership cards, table placards for our dealer members, and increasing our visibility at upcoming shows. We will also be exchanging links with appropriate organizations to further our visibility. We encourage members to offer advice and input. Ideas will be funneled to the appropriate committee.
Every current member will have his period of membership extended until further notice. New members will pay dues, of course, but current members will not be asked for dues until it is deemed necessary. This will give all members an opportunity to judge our performance and commitment as the organization progresses.
We wish each of you a happy and prosperous New Year.
Stephen W. Sylvia
